THE AMITYVILLE PROJECTS

Amityville Horror: The Return

The feature film screenplay, based on John’s book, Amityville: The Horror Returns, is now finished and Vicarious is currently in negotiations with a number of major directors, actors and producers, as well as seriously interested funders and major studios/distributors.

AMITY_Sequel_Hero_FrontCovOnly_F_NoBleedSince the Amityville Horror projects have already generated returns fast approaching blockbuster status, in many areas, with over ten million books sold, and feature films and television returns in the high hundreds of millions of dollars – the only authorized sequel to the Lutz families story that started it all, is, of course, generating a serious buzz.

Amityville Now: The Jones Journal

Amityville Now cover 2014The pilot script for the series has been completed and the initial response to it, from already highly successful producers, TV directors, and potential actors, has been overwhelmingly positive. With an entirely new take on the Amityville story – since it is based on the autobiography of John G. Jones and many of the bizarre occurrences that took place while he was writing his Amityville books — this Series can only further bolster the franchise. John is already at work on a second book in what he calls The Light Warrior Series.

The story lines for the first six episodes of The Series are completed and the project is ready to be put into production. The rare few in the industry who have had the opportunity to see the series concept are unanimous in their opinions: this is not only a perfect vehicle for this time — a supernatural thriller with a name already known by the viewing public — has a unique premise that makes it a natural; it has the clear potential to run for years in both its initial viewing slots and in continuing reruns.

Amityville Horror Christmas

Amityville Christmas Book cover FInal front only 5-7In 2013, Amityville Horror Christmas first revealed the untold story of what happened in the boathouse at 112 Ocean Avenue on that awful Christmas Eve…and now that stunning story is the basis for a full-length feature film. Here is what we already know: On December 24, 1975, two innocent handymen were summoned to the infamous Lutz home in Amityville — at that time, just another suburban home like any other — to fix a boathouse door. Little did the handymen know that the Lutz Family was living through a nightmare in the main house…and now they would be sharing that nightmare. In the next few hours, Owen Blake and Randy Hallowell will encounter inexplicable events, malevolent spirits, and a force beyond understanding. If they survive, it will change them…forever. Now: Experience the previously untold story of what happened at the Amityville house on that awful Christmas Eve. Amityville Horror Christmas, a holiday horror novella, is the perfect “Christmas scare,” and it’s already in preproduction for release.

AND…

SHOCK WAVES

Written by John and author Brad Munson, Shock Waves is an action film set in the modern-day, little-known world of shock-jock radio. The heart-stopping action begins just minutes after the opening and the whirlwind, nail-biting tension will grip audiences in a hair-raising ride that doesn’t let up until the last terrifying climax.

Vicarious Enterprises plans to move Shock Waves into production early in 2015.

DEATHSCAPE:

DeathScapeis a horror/thriller aimed directly at the incredibly lucrative youth audiences of the world. The feature film budget may well be considered conservative, even low-budget in some circles; but since the original project is in the horror genre, and is written by John G. Jones, the worldwide best-selling author and official chronicler of, The Amityville Horror, the chances for wide-release distribution and continuing publicity, starting even before the film is in production, are very strong.

The script was carefully written to ensure the possibility of at least one sequel, but the film has the very real possibility of becoming a franchise in the footsteps of such other low-budget horror films as the Scream trilogy, the Saw series, and many others.

In the coming months, a number of other current Vicarious Enterprises, Inc. projects will move into pre-production and then production. We are committed to continue making entertaining and successful films for many years to come.
